Register
Full Circle's introductory SCIT class is to teach improv skills used by Full Circle to interested people of all levels of experience and all ages. For three hours on Tuesday evenings, class participants will be engaged in a variety of theater exercises and activities within a fun and challenging learning environment.
During the first four weeks, the class will emphasize basic improvisational skills. Participants will learn and practice improv theater games, explore sociodrama (theater designed to address social issues) and do scene work (including the use of voice, movement, and timing).
The second four weeks are designed to put the acting skills learned in the first part of the class into a performance context. Participants will learn the importance of performance objectives, playing with the audience, listening to the audience, and supporting their fellow actors during performances.
Throughout the class, members will have opportunities to perform for and with the Full Circle Troupe at their ongoing workshop, to see Full Circle perform some of the skills being taught in the class, and to receive trainings on current social issues and special topics relevant to Full Circle performance schedules.
